We are excited to welcome Driss Baddouri to our Embedded software team to help us continue the development of the Wattsense solution.

Driss is an Embedded Software Engineer with a diploma from ENSICAEN University. He has worked in R&D and IoT solutions in companies such as TELIT/TITAN. His skill sets include the programming languages C/C++, Assembly, and Python.

On a personal note, Driss is originally from Morocco and speaks three languages Arabic, French, and English; this comes in handy as he's quite the globe trotter. His most memorable trips are to Australia, Malaysia, and Indonesia.

Role at Wattsense

The Wattsense solution comprises a hardware device, Box/Hub, and our User Console. The Embedded team is responsible for the computer software written to run on our hardware, creating new features, and revising those already implemented to increase quality control.

As Embedded Software Engineer, Driss is part of the embedded team and the general R&D team, including the back-end, front-end, QA, and Product Management.

By joining Wattsense, Driss is working on:

  • Integrating new field protocols (wired or radio) to our hardware to connect it to new types of equipment.
  • Creating a system of embedded plugins (Python, Javascript, other), that can be developed by the users and allow interaction with the equipment via the Box software.
  • Developing new features, including communication with the back-end.

Secret Weapon

Driss can be found practicing his backhand on the tennis court when he's not coding! He’s even played some tournaments but has no professional plans of switching the keyboard for the racket.
